Outdoor season May to October
Grass, fresh air and plenty of space to run. We play on our home field unless the schedule says otherwise.
Indoor season November to April
A gymnasium keeps winter soccer warm and dry. The pitch is smaller and the ball stays in play, so there are even more touches.
What to wear
Dress for the surface and the weather. We supply the ball, the pinnies and the raccoon spirit.
On the field (May to October)
- Shin guards, worn under the socks
- Cleats or sturdy runners (no metal studs)
- Layers for the weather, plus a hat and sunscreen on bright days
- A named water bottle
- A rain jacket in the bag for wet days
In the gym (November to April)
- Clean, non-marking indoor shoes with flat soles
- No outdoor cleats inside the gym
- Shin guards, worn under the socks
- Light, breathable layers: gyms warm up fast
- A named water bottle
Tip: pack indoor shoes in a separate bag and change at the door so the gym floor stays clean.
How a practice or game runs
Most weeks a team meets twice for about an hour, for practices and games alike.
First 15 minutes
Drills and one strategy idea for the day, with a ball for every player.
Next 45 minutes
Gameplay and gameplay practice: small-sided games with short coaching moments, so the idea is used straight away.
Water breaks come whenever players need them.
